Singapore: The Rising Epicenter for Family Offices in Asia

Administered by a dedicated division within the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the Global Investor Programme (GIP) offers a specialised residency-by-investment route for eligible business owners and investors seeking Singapore Permanent Residency (PR).

Between 2020 and 2022, an average of 60 investors each year successfully attained PR status through the GIP—underscoring its exclusivity and strategic appeal.

The GIP is part of Singapore’s broader national initiative to drive economic expansion by:

  • Attracting high-potential investors and entrepreneurs from around the world.

  • Enhancing the talent pool within key growth sectors

Unlike traditional Singapore PR schemes such as the Professional, Technical Personnel and Skilled Workers Scheme (PTS) or Family Sponsorship, the GIP follows a distinct set of evaluation parameters, focusing on business experience, investment contributions, and economic impact.
